adding bricks to lawn
#1
If i want to setup a fireplace outside, like a spot for my fire's to burn without ruining the grass, what's the best way to do this. I was just going to build up. But now im thining maybe dig a foot or two down, and just surround the hole in a pretty birck ?

I understood your problem and many people want to do this thing in cold seasons. As you said dig the ground, but build it with bricks for some height just 30 to 50 cm's so that the heat will go up instead of surrounding the grass. These types are available in most homes.

Digging is the better option. Build it on grass and you’ll kill the roots. Dig about 12–18 inches down, add gravel for drainage, and line it with fire-rated brick or a metal ring. Keep the edge slightly above ground and add stone or pavers around it to protect the grass.
