3 ways to keep flowers healthy during winter in Apartments

Wintering flowers seems to be getting easier in a house. The farmer will still find where to place them. There are always corners that are not used and are suitable for flowers. In the apartment things are a little different. Here are three ideas that can work you out.

Put shelves on one of the doors to the balcony

In winter, flowers must be close to the window to get the necessary light. If you do not have enough space on the window sills or just below the windows, sacrifice one of the doors to the balcony. Realize that you will not be able to open it to ventilate it this winter. Attach shelves to it, arrange flowers and cacti on them. Ensure that the door is properly sealed in order not to damage the plants if the temperatures become too low. The inconvenience is that if the pots are too long or the shelves too long, you will have to take the pots every time you want to water them. The good thing is that in winter, flowers are rarely irrigated anyway.

Make more hanging pots

This will save space and you will use the window light on several levels – for the pots hanging from the ceiling and for the window sill or on the floor next to it. Do not worry that not all plants are hanging or wrapping. You can easily grab or make a large and shallow hanging pot in which to arrange a lot of small pots with still unspoiled plants. They will feel good, and you will have  space in the room for the older ones.

On the side of kitchen cabinets

Kitchens are usually light and the kitchen cabinet sides are unused. Mount small shelves for them and arrange pots on them. True, the kitchen is a bit warmer, it is best for the flowers to stand in a bright and cool room, but the air in it is wetter. Plants feel good in the kitchen, and it looks more beautiful with them. If you have bulbs, keep them in a dark and cool place – in the closet or basement, where the temperature is 7 to 10 degrees.

Spread them in a crate or chest, spray them with pestle detergent against fungus and cover them, best with peat moss.

After you finish with your flowers you will definitely need to clean the house. To save yourself time and effort is best to call professional cleaning company. But how much the professional house cleaning cost? You will certainly get cheaper than taking a day off and spend it cleaning the house. Not to mention the preparations you should buy.
