Rain barrels
#1
Who likes to use rain barrels? Is it illegal in your area? Some places it is. Fortunately it’s not here. How many do you have? We have 5 & I use them for established plants. For seedlings, I use the soaker hose until they get a bit bigger; don’t want to wash them away.
What do you use your rain barrel water for?

I’m a big fan of rain barrels too. They’re legal here, so I make good use of them—saving water and keeping plants happier at the same time. We have five as well, and I mainly use that water for established plants. For seedlings, I stick with a soaker hose until they’re bigger since heavy watering can easily disturb them. Rain barrel water is great for gardens, trees, and even container plants.

My church has a community garden and they chose to set up rain barrels to collect water during droughts. It's been quite a success and they don't have to worry about dragging a long hose out to the areas where the gardens are. The only worry I have is chemicals from the roof being added to the water.

I don’t think rainwater harms plants because it is naturally treated water, unlike tap water. Rainwater provides essential minerals that help plants grow healthy and strong.
