Has Anyone Tried Electro-Culture / Earth Battery Gardening?

Hi everyone,
I recently came across a video talking about something called electro-culture or the earth battery method. The idea is to put two different metals (usually copper and zinc) into the soil so the moist earth acts like an electrolyte and creates a very weak natural current. Some people claim this can improve plant growth, nutrient uptake, and even increase yields.
They also talk about:

Using copper + zinc as a “golden pair”

Placing the metals a meter or more apart

Sometimes aligning them North–South

Not putting them too close to roots

Supporters say it can boost growth without fertilizer, while others say it’s mostly hype with very mixed results.
I’m curious:

Has anyone here actually tried this in a garden or farm?

What crops did you test it on?

Did you notice any real difference compared to normal beds?

Any problems like root damage or soil contamination?

I’m not planning to replace fertilizer with this—just interested as a small experiment. Would love to hear real experiences, good or bad.

Hey everyone, hoping for some quick advice. I was getting out some firewood from my backyard shed and noticed a bunch of tiny, discarded wings on the floor. When I looked closer at one of the support beams, I saw what looks like mud tubes snaking up the side and the wood sounds hollow when I tap it.

I'm 90% sure these are termites. I'm freaking out a little. What should be my first step? Is this something a handy person can tackle themselves, or do I absolutely need to call a pro? Any recommendations for a good termite controller would be great too (I'm in the suburbs, if that helps).

Thanks in advance.
