Trying to grow grass in a non lit area ( under a tree ), ive used just about everything i can think of , short of replacing all the soil. any idea how i can get proper grass to grow?

You have said, replaced the soil and everything, so does the grass is not growing well? Is this in all seasons? I think you started just few months back.

Make sure that sunrays should fall on the grass atleast one hour in a day, since sun rises in the east and sets in the south, so you can have it once in a day. Do not over water to this grass. Cut the grass which is not growing well and remove any weeds stones from time to time.

| and you can use reflectors to point light at the area as to get the grass to grow better.
