  Does buffer can change PH?
Posted by: srinivas - 05-12-2022, 12:36 AM - Forum: Aquaponics - No Replies

I am seeing my buffer increases PH when I put into the system. I had a question does this happens with anyone of you and how one can control it. Currently my buffer is KHCO3 and how does it can be cintroled?

  Solar power for a shed
Posted by: HikerShawn - 05-09-2022, 06:43 PM - Forum: Solar Energy - Replies (1)

I'd like to purchase a portable shed building. I want to install lighting and power to be able to support energy efficient space heater, fan, and podcasting equipment.

The idea is to turn it into a podcasting studio.

What kind of solar setup do you think would be appropriate for this? How much about?

  Landscape planning as a job
Posted by: HikerShawn - 05-09-2022, 06:40 PM - Forum: landscape - Replies (2)

Have any of you ever got paid for landscape planning at all?

My girlfriend actually makes landscape plans and gets paid for them.

It isn't her main job but every now and then, a few landscape companies pay her to do it.

I keep trying to get her to try to turn it into some kind of part-time job.

  Best veggies to grow
Posted by: HikerShawn - 05-09-2022, 06:36 PM - Forum: vegetables - No Replies

I'd like to add more veggies to my diet.

I recently read that cucumbers are some of the best things to eat to help curb a sweet tooth.

What are some other great ones that are worth growing for the best health?

  Dawn dish soap and water

I was told by someone that mixing dawn dish soap and water is a good solution to kill weeds.

Is there any truth to it or is it false?

Are any of your into growing edible mushrooms at all?

My girlfriend and I buy mushroom logs online and grow them ourselves. Oyster mushrooms and lionsmane is usually what we grow.

Really delicious, too.

  Howdy Folks
Posted by: HikerShawn - 05-08-2022, 06:01 PM - Forum: Introductions - Replies (4)

Howdy folks,

Shawn here from southern Illinois (USA). I'm a 30 something year old guy who loves the outdoors whether I am hiking or playing in the dirt in my garden.

I'm mainly a veggie gardner, growing the stuff I like for myself and family.

We also cultivate wild mushrooms using dead wood or buying pre-spored logs.

We also hunt for mushrooms and edible plants as well.

Thanks for having me and I look forward to this community! Smile
